R v M - Sexual assault on a female
Mohammed Ullah represented M who was charged with sexual assault on a female while travelling with her on a coach. M was accused of forcefully touching her inappropriately and in a sexual manner. Having been told by the female that she does not consent to such contact, M kissed her and touched her hair.
Swabs from the victim were taken in order to confirm the allegations as well as witness statements. The case was set down for trial. As a result of lengthy representations to the CPS to consider whether prosecution was in the public interest, the CPS agreed to discontinue the case.
